In Yusufeli Dam, the water height exceeded 161 metres

The water height of the Yusufeli Dam and HEPP, which was built on the Çoruh River in Artvin and started to hold water on 22 November 2022, reached 161.93 metres.
According to the information obtained by AA correspondent from the 26th Regional Directorate of State Hydraulic Works (DSİ), water retention continues at the Yusufeli Dam and HEPP, which is the first in Turkey and the fifth highest in the world in the double curvature concrete arch category with a body height of 275 metres.
As of June 5, the water level at the Yusufeli Dam, which is one of Turkey’s prestigious projects and built entirely with national capital and the sweat of Turkish engineers and workers, reached 665.43 levels, the water height reached 161.93 metres and the amount of water stored reached 905.60 million cubic metres.
Yusufeli Dam, which has an installed capacity of 558 megawatts and an annual energy production of 1 billion 888 million kilowatt-hours, is expected to generate electricity for test purposes after the water height exceeds 167 metres.
Electricity generation at the Yusufeli Dam will start after the water height reaches 207 metres.
