Hundreds of years old artefacts find “healing” in The Nation’s Library of the Presidency
After being repaired with special methods at the Book Healing Centre in the Presidential National Library, artefacts worn out by centuries of historical journeys take their place in the library.
In the Book Healing Centre at the Presidential National Library, which hosts hundreds of years-old manuscripts, manuscripts, rare printed books and documents are repaired and made more durable, almost "healing" them.
After the deterioration of the works are examined and determined by experts, procedures are initiated according to documentation and restoration priorities.
The works are carried out for the needs of each artefact with minimum intervention while preserving the original structure.
After being documented, the restored artefacts are stored in storage areas in accordance with preventive conservation principles, and periodic maintenance and controls are ensured.
