Golbası’s natural climate drew crowds to ‘Tulumtas Cave’ amid scorching heat
"Tulumtaş Cave", which has cold air in summer and hot air in winter due to its structure, is among the favourite haunts of visitors who want to cool off in a natural environment in summer with its cold effect that does not look like air conditioning.
Located in Karayatak locality between İncek, Hacılar and Tulumtaş villages, the cave was discovered about 30 years ago during the works in the quarry operated for the construction of the ring road.
The cave, which has a horizontal length of approximately 265 metres, was opened to visitors on 1 August after the arrangements made to bring it to tourism.
In the cave, which has cold air in summer and hot air in winter due to the underground air flow, cold air is felt from the entrance, while the air temperature drops by 20 degrees as you go deeper.
The cave, which has a natural air conditioning feature, attracts many visitors from Turkey and abroad.
