President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev said that the flag of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) should and will be flown at events in his country.
Aliyev received the participants of the 2nd Meeting of Ministers Responsible for Disaster and Emergency Management of the Organisation of Turkic States (CIS) held in Baku.
CIS Secretary General Ambassador Kubanicbek Ömüraliyev, Azerbaijan Minister of Emergency Situations Kemaleddin Haydarov, Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya, Kazakhstan Minister of Emergency Situations Sırım Şariphanov, Kyrgyzstan Minister of Emergency Situations Boobek Ajikeev, Uzbekistan Minister of Emergency Situations Abdulla Kuldaşev and TRNC Minister of Interior Dursun Oğuz took part in the meeting.
Aliyev stated that the Summit of the CIS Heads of State would be held two months later and that it was envisaged to sign an agreement on cooperation in disaster management at this meeting and that there was a great need for this.
Pointing out that disasters are increasing both in the region and in the world, Aliyev reminded the earthquakes in Turkey and the support efforts of the brotherly countries including Azerbaijan.
